Roller Bearings Catagories Overview

Roller bearings are used in applications like conveyor belt rollers; they are required to hold heavy radial loads. Within the bearing the roller is a cylinder, so the contact minimises rubbing between the inner and outer race. The roller bearing can handle greater loads than a ball bearing because the load is spread out over a larger area. However a roller bearing is not designed to handle great amounts of thrust loading.
